This simple yet profound statement sparked meaningful conversations about the importance of representation in healthcare datasets, and how the absence of diversity can lead to systemic blind spots in diagnostics and treatment.

These interactions highlighted the need for cross-disciplinary, cross-border collaboration to ensure AI serves all populations, especially those historically underrepresented.

From exciting talks on LATAM genomics to practical discussions on inclusive data pipelines, our team left inspired and empowered to further our mission. We’re proud to see the conversation moving beyond awareness into action-oriented strategies.

Advancing the #Remaining84 Movement

This conference also marked a powerful step forward for our #Remaining84 campaign, which addresses the stark reality that only 16% of AI-ready cancer data represents non-European populations. At PAICON, we are committed to building for 100%—rooted in 84%.
